Screenlite

Screenlite is open source digital signage software.

Why I'm building Screenlite

Hi, I'm 514sid. I started Screenlite because I needed a digital signage tool that was simple, modern, and truly open. I couldn’t find one that fit all three.

Most existing tools are hard to use, feel outdated, or aren't fully open-source.

Screenlite is different. It's open from the start, licensed under MIT, and developed in public. Anyone can use it, explore it, and build on top of it.

My goal is to keep it simple — easy enough for a single screen, but powerful enough to manage thousands.

Security, reliability, and scalability are part of the plan from day one. I want it to grow safely and be ready for real-world use.

I’m always open to ideas, suggestions, feature requests, and useful integrations. If something’s missing or you have a need, let’s talk about it.

Join the discussion on Discord — I’d love to hear your thoughts.

How it works

Screenlite has two main parts:

Right now, most development is focused on the CMS. The Player is still in early stages.

The Player is being built to support multiple platforms — including Windows, Android, Linux, and the web. I’m also exploring apps for Tizen and webOS.

Let’s build it together

If you have ideas, needs, or suggestions — whether it's a feature you'd like to see or a system you’d like to connect — I’d love to hear about it.

You can follow the project on GitHub and join the conversation on Discord.
